Namesake Johann Peter Ring

Johann Peter Ring was born in 1801 in Schönau in the Upper Palatinate.

From 1830 until his death in 1875 he worked as Ottmaring's pastor in Ottmaring, Rederzhausen and Hügelshart. In 1850 he was appointed district school inspector. He campaigned tirelessly for the school system, which was still in its early stages. Around 1866 he had a new schoolhouse built, which was used as a school until 1968. After his death, he bequeathed part of his money to the Ottmaring school community. Today a plaque in the entrance area of the Ottmaringer Church commemorates Johann Peter Ring.

The school was named after him in 1991.
